East West Players: A Home on Stage

Join us for our screening of “East West Players: A Home on Stage”, a one-hour documentary film created through the PBS SoCal and KCET series, ARTBOUND. The event will feature a pre-show reception, followed by the screening, and a post-show panel featuring some of the stars of the documentary!

The KCET Original Emmy® award-winning arts and culture series ARTBOUND presents “East West Players: A Home on Stage” as the sixth episode of its 14th season. ARTBOUND examines the contributions of California-based artists and art movements in today’s American culture.

For 58 years, East West Players theatre company has been hosting Asian American artists such as George Takei, John Cho, Daniel Dae Kim, James Hong and many others featured in this documentary. Through candid conversations, the film chronicles the history of one of the longest running theatres of color in the United States.

Event Details

East West Players’ screening of “East West Players: A Home on Stage” is a free, public event. The screening will be held at the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy: Tateuchi Democracy Forum.

Pre-screening reception begins at 6PM.
Screening of “East West Players: A Home on Stage” begins at 7PM.
Expected runtime is 1 hour.
Post-show panel featuring some of the stars of the documentary to follow.
