PROJECT TITLE: Grey Cascade
SYNOPSIS OR PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Seok, a Korean man in his fifties, has an elderly mother with dementia. When she suffers a stroke, he finds himself unable to care for her adequately, leaving him with regret and guilt.
UNION STATUS/CONTRACT: Student Short Film, We are under the SAG Micro-Budget Agreement but are open to considering any Non-union talent as well.
PAY: $50-$100 Daily Stipend
TIME COMMITMENT (Rehearsals, Performance or Shoot Dates): Seok: 4 Days total (2 Rehearsals, 2 Shoot Dates) Seok’s Mother 3 (1 Rehearsal, 2 Shoot Dates)
CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS: SEOK/?/? MALE 45+ KOREAN/KOREAN AMERICAN - Stoic, stubborn, a loner. Struggles to express his love to his family and turns to golf as his only escape from reality. Embodies traditional Asian masculinity, which often involves suppressing emotions. Must be fluent in Korean
SEOK’S MOTHER FEMALE 70+ KOREAN/KOREAN AMERICAN - A gentle and loyal woman. The loss of her husband, has intensified her struggle with dementia. Despite care from her son, finds herself very lonely, away from her home country. We welcome any individual who can portray an elderly Asian woman
