The East West Players Anniversary Visionary Awards Dinner is an award-winning event that salutes artists who have raised the visibility of the Asian Pacific American community through theater, film and television. Proceeds from the evening will benefit East West Players educational and artistic programs.
For 44 years, East West Players has been a place for the Asian Pacific American voice to thrive.

2010 Honoree
Wenda Fong, FOX V.P. Of Alternative Entertainment (oversees American
Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Hell's Kitchen)
Wenda Fong is a well-respected producer
and director of television and live events with a remarkable track
record as an executive and community force. Wenda can claim credit
on over 200 television programs ranging from all-star variety
specials, award shows, live spectaculars, sitcoms, talk shows to
documentaries. Wenda is co-founder and Chairperson of the Coalition
of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment and has served as President of
East West Players. She is a member of the Directors Guild of
America and is founding co-chairperson emeritus of the DGA
Asian-American Committee. Wenda joined FOX as its first Vice
President of Creative Diversity Development Department in 2001 where
she created and launched its successful diversity initiatives.
In 2003, she was promoted to Vice President of Alternative
Entertainment and presently oversees American Idol, So You Think You
Can Dance, Hell’s Kitchen and the NAACP Image Awards.

2010 Honoree
Mike Shinoda, Musician (Linkin Park), Visual Artist
Michael Kenji Shinoda, a Japanese
American musician, record producer and artist from Agoura Hills,
California - best known for his vocal and musical endeavors with
two-time Grammy-winning, multi-platinum rock band
Linkin Park. Shinoda
oversees the packaging, print and online art for the band and is
also involved in other projects including Fort Minor, Music For
Relief, and Projekt Revolution. Shinoda was the youngest of his
graduating class from Art Center College of Design in 1998 with a
B.A. in Illustration, where he has created a fund in his name to
benefit promising illustration and graphic design students with
financial need. His museum shows Glorious Excess (Born)
and Glorious Excess (Dies)
opened at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles in
2008 and 2009, and this year he’ll curate a collaborative group show
in New York City.


2010 Honoree
PIXAR Animation Studios
Pixar Animation
Studios
is an Academy Award ®-winning computer animation studio. Up
won Golden Globe Awards for Best Animated Feature Film and Best
Original Score from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. More
recently, the film received five Academy Award nominations,
including Best Picture, making Up only the second animated
film in history to receive such a nomination, following Beauty
and the Beast in 1991. It was awarded with two Academy Awards
for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Score in 2010.
Pixar's
objective is to combine proprietary technology and world-class
creative talent to develop computer-animated feature films with
memorable characters and heartwarming stories that appeal to
audiences of all ages. Pixar is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of The
Walt Disney Company. Accepting on behalf of Pixar will be
Production Designer for Up, Ricky Nierva. Ricky joined
Pixar Animation Studios in May 1997. He was the lead character
designer for Monster's Inc. and the character art
director for the
Academy Award-winning feature Finding Nemo. Ricky most recently
completed working as the production designer on Disney Pixar’s
Academy Award-winning feature Up.

2010 Honoree
Jordan Nagai, Actor, Voice of Russell in Disney Pixar's "UP"
Jordan Nagai started
his acting career at around one and a half years old. He first
appeared in First Five, a PSA commercial. He has done print
work for companies such as Pacific Care and JC Penney. Jordan was
attending his Saturday Japanese school when the principal sent out a
notice for the audition of Disney Pixar’s "Up". After several
auditions Jordan got the role of “wilderness explorer” Russell.
Jordan had a great time working on this film.
