The Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program provides 10-week paid summer internships (40 hours/week) to eligible undergraduate college students. Students are paid $400/week to work in nonprofit literary, performing and presenting arts organizations and municipal arts agencies throughout Los Angeles County. East West Players

As the nation’s premier Asian American theatre organization, East West Players produces artistic works and educational programs that foster dialogue exploring Asian Pacific experiences.

The Production Intern will work closely with East West Players staff and theatrical artisans and craftsmen to see to the operations of the theatre during the 50th Anniversary Season. Through this internship, the intern will work on productions and special events produced internally as well as offering venue support to third party clients for our Mainstage productions, and events. The intern will gain a thorough introduction to the inner workings of a mid-sized theatre organization while learning specific skills in production, technical theatre, event management and logistics.

Key requirements include a displayed enthusiasm for technical theatre, design, event planning or event management; Interest in the Asian Pacific American artistic community or artists of color; and stamina to multitask and adapt to variables in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have a background in technical theatre, theatrical design, stage management, event management, or event production. Applicant must feel a connection to the impact of EWP and have a desire to support the mission & work of EWP. Applicant must be proficient in internet-research & MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Working knowledge of Vectorworks, AutoCAD, Lightwright, or other industry standard computer-aided drafting and show management software is a plus. Applicant should display pleasant, clear, & effective communication skills (in writing, in person, and on the phone) for dealing with artists, vendors, community partners, and clients. Applicant should have the flexibility to work nights/weekends as needed for during special events or show runs.
