Theatre for Youth

Partners in Education and Arts Collaboration (P.E.A.C.)

PEAC is a residency program which brings the performing arts to schools who do not have funding for arts education. This after school program is conducted for two hours on a weekly basis by professional actors leading 18 seventh graders through a series of theatrical exercises which are designed to give students a basic foundation of theatre skills.

Youth Tour

The youth touring show changes from year to year to offer students from grades K - 12 exposure to the arts and well as opening them to different cultures and backgrounds. Previous productions included ASIAN PACIFIC TALES and DAWN'S LIGHT: The Journey of Gordon Hirabayashi and David Henry Hwang's Obie Award Winning Play F.O.B.

Creative Play

East West Players presents a fun, creative and playful 1-week summer program for children ages 10 -14 to learn together in a nurturing and welcoming environment. Children learn and play together to develop strong team work skills, build self confidence and help stretch their imagination. (Program currently not offered. Check back with us for future program dates.)

Teen Acting Class

East West Players Education Department is offering an Acting Workshop for teens.  The 8 week-long course focuses on beginning acting skills for teens and includes exercises needed to develop the actor's craft.  Exploration will be through improvisation and theatre games which will improve and promote communication and imagination skills, as well as team building and self-confidence.  Led by longtime East West Players veteran Dom Magwili, the workshops are held at St. Francis Xavier Chapel located in the Little Tokyo District of Downtown Los Angeles.
