Board Profile
JAMES E. HERR
James E. Herr is the Sr. Manager of Global Corporate
Citizenship for the Boeing Company’s Western Region. Jim leads a team of
community investors who look for opportunities to create strong vibrant
communities in the areas of education, health & human services, arts &
culture, the environment and civic engagement. Prior Boeing he was the
Director of Diversity at Film Independent and the Manager of Corporate
Social Responsibility at Sony Pictures Entertainment.
In addition to serving EWP, Jim also serves on the Board of Directors of
Visual Communications and is a programmers Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film
Festival—one of the largest festivals of its kind. He previously served as
the Chair of the Los Amigos Council of Para Los Niños and on the Board of
Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. He has given his
time to Search to Involve Pilipino Americans, the Festival of Pilipino
Arts & Culture, the Filipino American Library and Big Brother Big Sisters
of Greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. He has served on grants
committees for the Entertainment Industry Foundation and Liberty Hill
Foundation.
Jim is a graduate of Leadership Southern California and participated in
the GCS Los Angeles Korean Leadership Exchange program. He holds an MBA
from Loyola Marymount University and an MLA and BA from Temple University
in Philadelphia.
Jim is currently in post-production on a short narrative film which he
wrote, directed and co-produced. He resides in the Echo Park section of
Los Angeles. (1/09)
